PROJECT OVERVIEW.

Pezzimenti recently completed a 164m long – 1450mm diameter microtunnel in 40 to 50MPa sandstone. It took 23 drilling days to complete – just over 7m/d. The spoil mostly came out dry and the bore was within 2mm of design grade and alignment.

Potential for Extended Lengths +300m

This bore had the potential to extend beyond 300m by using our intercept bore methodology.

In competent ground conditions, eg shale, siltstone and sandstone in the Western Sydney basin, laser guided – vacuum spoil removal microtunnelling is very efficient.

Pipes and Grout

GRP Jacking Pipe was sliplined into this bore and grouted as per design. Most of the time – with a small bore annulus of < 25mm, grout is not necessary.
